In the new and improved words of JT, we’re bringing BELLY LOVE back babes! We, for one, are ready to show all the belly rolls in the world some respect and yep, that means every. single. one. Including yours doll!

Whether you’re kinda new to the idea of not hating your rolls, feelin’ some typa way on your postpartum journey or you’re a seasoned-but-human BOPO pro, fat positivity and a bit of belly love has benefits for us all. Our tummies change all the time… It’s called growing up, surviving a pandemic, living our best lives and it’s completely NORMAL.

This gorgeous art by the wonderfully talented Jess Voss (@jessvoss_art on Insta) is a permanent fixture on all our vision boards!

Big bellied babes, you don’t have to have less rolls, stretch marks or dimples to feel accepted. Just because your tummy is larger does NOT mean you’re less loveable or less worthy of respect. There’s no ‘one-belly-fits-all’ in life, and you can’t hate yourself into feeling better about yourself EVER, so why even try?

Edited, super smooth and toned stomachs are mostly an illusion anyway: we all have some sort of tummy honey, and we shouldn’t be afraid to love ours exactly as they are. They literally keep us alive, protecting our internal organs and looking precious AF all the while.

Our best tips for learning to feel comfortable with your rolls are…

💕 Get used to actually touching them! Too often we literally recoil when we touch our tummies, and this is something hugely important to challenge. Showing your belly some physical kindness can change the way our brains and bodies feel!

💕 Don’t shy away from looking at your rolls in the mirror. Did you know it takes an average of SIX WHOLE ASS MONTHS for your brain to get used to seeing a new, physical change in ourselves? Don’t deprive yourself of this healing time by hiding from the party huns.

💕 Learn to speak kindly to yourself when you’re looking at your tummy too. For every bad thought you have about it, challenge yourself to think of three neutral or nice ones to retrain your automatically negative thinking.

💕 Lastly, throw on some cute undies that help your stomach feel supported and gently held. We’d recommend any of our Cheeky Briefs for the job (we’ve been told their support is ‘magical for muffin tops’ before, juss sayin’ dolls!!). Get yourself in front of a mirror ASAP and repeat the following… “I am MORE than my body. My body IS NOT my worth. I am BEAUTIFUL. I am SEXY. I am PERFECT as I am!”

When we stop wasting time wishing our bodies could be different, we become a whole new person. One that has time to be brighter, bubblier and make the most of the world around us! The right people will LOVE this change for us, and if they don’t like it just remind them they don’t have to look!

To the fat, black women who have always spearheaded this movement and who none of this revolutionary love would be possible without… Here’s to you! We have so much respect for the battles you’ve fought to get us all here today ❤️

KEEP LOVING YOURSELF DOLLS!! 🙌
